when i was 23, i spent a year working as one of twentysix farmhands on a vegetable farm in virginia. it was one of the greatest experiences of my life so far. since the moment i returned, my grandma has been begging me to document every bit of it. "how does asparagus grow?" she wants to know.

well, i've remembered it in bits and pieces for years now. HackedtoBits.com gave me the most substantial opportunity to tell the world about it. i wrote an article called 38287 John Wolford Road and drew an afternoon as illustration.

maybe someday, when i've had time to make sense of it all, i'll assemble all my memories and draw the whole year for my grandma.
